GUWAHATI, June 21: The Assam Inland Water Transport Department has suspended ferry services from Pandu Ghat and Madhyam Khanda Ghat in North Guwahati on Monday because of the rise in the water level of the Brahmaputra. However, due to the lack of proper rules and regulations, the private boats continued with their services despite the situation turning extremely risky. Around 30,000 passengers use the inland water services between Guwahati and North Guwahati everyday.
