Financial irregularities in MRNREGA; 5 Accountants suspended

GUWAHATI: Accountants of five Development Blocks were suspended on Thursday by Hemen Das, Commissioner, Pancahyat and Rural Development, with immediate effect due to financial irregularities under MRNREGA violating the office instruction. The Accountants are Wilson Kro, Lumbajong Dev. Block, Karbi Anglong; Ranjit Kr. Narzary of Gossaigaon Dev. Block, Kokrajhar; Ashok Saikia, Mayong Dev.Block of Morigaon district; Harendra Kalita and Samid Ali of Rowta and Udalguri Dev. Block of Udalguri district respectively. At the same time, the Block Development Officers (BDOs) of the said Dev. Blocks have also been issued show cause notice due to the irregularities. The BDOs are Mitali Katharpi, Bimala Borgayari, Juri Saikia, Sokhemly Bodo and Madan Barman respectively.
