Firing incident causes sensation in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: A sensation has been created today by a firing incident that took place in the Birubari area of Guwahati. According to police sources, the firing was done by Binoy Kalita, a journalist.

After the police received a statement from Binoy Kalita, it got revealed that a group was trying to kidnap him in a car following which he fired to save himself. He was kidnapped, for he was going to publish a news regarding the supply of cannabis. Later, he took shelter at Birubari outpost .

According to sources, Binoy Kalita also possessed a license of the gun. Police detained four men and a woman for inquiry in this regard. And the police also informed the media that the investigation to detect the cause of kidnapping is going on.
