Five guest houses fined in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Health & Enforcement branches of GMC (Guwahati Municipal Corporation) conducted a 'Trade License' inspection drive in the Beltola area of the city on Thursday.

Altogether five guest houses were inspected during the drive. Sources informed that all of them were found to be operating without a valid trade licence. Fines were imposed and/ or notices were served to the trades as per provisions of the GMC Act. A total of Rs 30,000 was collected as a penalty during the drive, added the source.
