GUWAHATI: Sleuths of the State Food Safety Commission destroyed milk after their samples had been detected without fats at the required quantity.

The sleuths collected as many as nine milk samples from different sellers and tested them in their mobile-testing laboratory. One of the milk samples showed zero per cent fats, another sample has only 2.2 per cent fats. The milk of these two samples was totally destroyed. The required quantity of fats to be present in milk is 3.2 per cent. The remaining seven samples were also found sub-standard. The presence of a chemical is suspected to be in one of the seven samples. Five of the seven milk samples, called as formal samples, are to be sent to the State Public Health Laboratory for the test.
