FLO North East Celebrated Children's Day with Children of Hafiznagar in Guwahati

Guwahati: FICCI Flo North East celebrated Children's Day with the children of UTSAH Child Protection Center of Hafiznagar No 2 Community, a slum cluster located in the Bamunimaidam area of Guwahati.

Children performed dances. Dr. Srutimala Duara, Chairperson, FLO North East, addressed the gathering and appealed to the children to study well and have fun at this stage of their life, not to go rag picking. Miguel Queah has arranged for their education through UTSAH.

Lunch was provided to about 100 children. A cake was cut.

Notebooks, pencils, pens, erasers were gifted to the children.

It may be mentioned that Children's Day is celebrated in India to increase awareness of the rights, care and education of children. It is held on 14 November every year as a tribute to India's First Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, fondly known as 'Chacha Nehru' among children, he advocated for children to have fulfilled education. On this day, many educational and motivational programs are held across India, by and for the children.
