Flybig Launches Direct Flight From Guwahati To Patna

Guwahati: Fly Big, a regional airline, has started its flight service connecting the capitals of Bihar and Assam from May 1, said an official of the Airport Authority of India (AAI).

The official added that this happens to be the third direct flight service between Patna and Guwahati, after IndiGo and SpiceJet.

A traditional water canon salute was given to FlyBig's maiden flight from Guwahati to Patna after it landed at the Patna airport on May 1.

Vivek Kumar, the station manager of FlyBig at Patna airport said that the airline's Bombardier aircraft, having a maximum seating capacity of 78 passengers, will operate the direct flights on Guwahati - Patna- Guwahati route on a daily basis.

He also went on to say that it will also provide further connectivity with Rupsi in Assam and Agartala in Tripura via Guwahati.

"Our flight (S9-209) will leave Guwahati at 6.15 am and reach Patna at 7.20 am. On its return, the flight (S9-210) will leave Patna at 7.40 am and reach Guwahati at 8.45 am," he added.

Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Flybig shared the same to also inform about the addition of their latest route.

Notably, Fly Big is the sixth airline that will operate from Patna after Air India, IndiGo, GoAir, SpiceJet and Vistara.

On an average daily basis, the Patna airport now caters to over 52 outbound flights, which connect to different destinations.

BCH Negi, outgoing airport director who has been transferred to the AAI corporate office in New Delhi, said that this service will be very helpful to the passengers and will also enhance air connectivity in the region.

Anchal Prakash, the Joint general manager, has been transferred from Allahabad to Patna as the airport director.
