Food Safety Drive at Fish Market

GUWAHATI, Sept 14: Officials of the Food Safety department of the state carried out a drive checking presence of formalin in fish at the wholesale fish market at Betkuchi on the outskirts of Guwahati. The officials took samples of fish for necessary examination. It may be recalled that in the latest instance formalin was detected in in fish in Golaghat district by officials of the department. Earlier such drives were carried out and sale of fish imported from outside was banned.
