'For Each Other' short film by Rima Das selected for Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles

Noted filmmaker Rima Das’ short film — ‘For Each Other’ has been selected to be showcased at the 19th edition of Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA).

GUWAHATI: Noted filmmaker Rima Das' short film — 'For Each Other' has been selected to be showcased at the 19th edition of Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA).

The film festival will be held from May 20 to May 27.

'For Each Other' shows the relationship between an earnest shop owner and a flamboyant tempo driver who pave the way to connect a quaint neighborhood in Assam to the outside world.

Along with 'For Each Other', three other Assamese films — Bridge, Aamis and Fireflies will be showcased at the IFFLA.

Rima Das was born is known for her film, Village Rockstars (2017), which won several national and international awards. The film—written, directed, edited, and produced by Das—was India's official entry for the 90th Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film category. The film is also the first Assamese film to be submitted for Oscar consideration.

She has also been conferred with the National Award for Best Film and Best Editor for Village Rockstars.
