GUWAHATI: Noted politician and former Minister Holiram Terang joined the LDP (Liberal Democratic Party) on Thursday. LDP State president Guna Gogoi called on him to take over as the party's State president. Terang is a veteran politician who was involved in the Foreign Expulsion Movement of Assam (1989-1975) and many movements in the hill districts of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hachao. President of Yuva Morcha Chandrapal Baruah said that the nationalist entity awakening in him would help maintain a healthy nationalist movement in Assam and strengthen regionalism. This good news is not only for the benefit of the party but also for the political and socio-cultural life of Assam, he added.
