Former Raha MLA Guneswar Das joins Bharatiya Janata Party
Ahead of the second and third phases of the Assembly polls, former MLA of Raha, Guneswar Das formally joined the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) here on Tuesday.

GUWAHATI: Ahead of the second and third phases of the Assembly polls, former MLA of Raha, Guneswar Das formally joined the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) here on Tuesday.
It is to be mentioned that Das is also participating in the election as an Independent candidate. Along with Das, other members such as Manoj Kumar Baruah, Ganesh Borkakoti, Prasanta Saikia, Suhan Singh, Tarun Nath and Indra Prashad Baruah also joined the saffron party officially.
By welcoming all the new members to BJP's wing, Minister Pijush Hazarika said that although it was certain that the saffron party is going to win in Raha, but Das' joining has set a benchmark in the whole process. In his speech, Das underlined that he was promised a party ticket from the Congress, but the party played their 'unethical politics' and provided the ticket to a 'corrupted' person.
