Former teacher dies of COVID-19 at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital

GUWAHATI: A retired teacher, Ganesh Chandra Kalita, died of COVID-19 here on Monday. He was under treatment at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where he breathed his last. Kalita was associated with Don Bosco School, Guwahati. He had made a name for himself as an iconic mathematics teacher and was very popular with his students. He was also actively involved with different social works in the Christianbasti locality, Guwahati. Kalita left behind his wife, a daughter and a son, along with a host of relatives.
