Gauhati High Court Grants Hiren Gohain, 2 Others Interim Bail

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court on Friday granted interim bail to intellectual Dr. Hiren Gohain, KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi and journalist Manjit Mahanta, against whom a case of sedition was registered by the police.

The High Court has asked the Assam Police to submit the case diary on the next hearing slated to be on January 22. The police registered a case of sedition against the three and some others who delivered lectures against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 at a public meeting on January 7.
