GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court has ordered the Secretary of the Department of Higher Education, Assam, Narayan Konwar to provide details of all teaching and non-teaching staff employed in educational institutions of the state.
Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak passed this order in reference to Case No. : WP(C)/7215/2019 filed by Anowara Khatoon.
“The Department of School Education both in Elementary and Secondary as well as in the Department of Higher Education, Assam individually shall give the details of staff working in provincialized and government Lower Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary, Higher Secondary and Higher Educational Institutes, block-wise and district-wise along with their respective treasuries as well as the posts sanctioned in each of such educational institutions, with the names of the incumbents appointed and served against such sanctioned posts, with both teaching and non-teaching staff serving in those educational institutions, along with their dates of birth, dates of appointment and dates of retirement, in booklet form as well as in electronic form, duly authenticated by the concerned Block Elementary Education Officers, Deputy Inspector of Schools, District Elementary Education Officers, Director of Elementary Education, Inspector of Schools, Director of Secondary Education and Director of Higher Education, as the case may be. Until further order of the Court, the personal appearance of Mr Narayan Konwar, the Secretary of the Department of Higher Education is dispensed with.” mentioned the order.
The next hearing of the matter will be conducted on April 26, 2023.
