Gauhati University NSS Cell organizes 'Vaccination Mahotsav'

The Gauhati University (GU) NSS Cell is organizing a ‘Vaccination Mahotsav’ at the varsity campus from April 11 to 14 as launched by the Prime Minister throughout the country.

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati University (GU) NSS Cell is organizing a 'Vaccination Mahotsav' at the varsity campus from April 11 to 14 as launched by the Prime Minister throughout the country.

Dr Ranjan Kr Kakati, Director, Students Welfare, GU & Programme Coordinator, NSS, Gauhati University flagged off the campaign and appealed to all the people who are 45 years and above to get vaccinated.

"To eradicate the COVID-19 pandemic everybody must join hands with this Vaccine Mahotsav by getting vaccinated and raise awareness in every corner of the country," Dr Kakati said.

The NSS volunteers from GU campus led by Dr Rituparna Bora NSS, PO GU campus moved from house to house in the Jalukbari area and other market places to raise awareness about COVID-19. The volunteers appealed to the people to wear masks, use of hand sanitizers and to get vaccinated. The volunteers also distributed face masks to the needy people. As a part of Vaccination Mahotsav, Dr R K Kakati along with several people and senior citizens got vaccinated at the GMCH on Monday, stated a release.
