Gauhati University orders colleges to withdraw affiliation from other varsities

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati University (GU) has ordered the affiliated colleges/institutes under the varsity to withdraw their affiliation from other universities.

The GU stated that some colleges/institutes are admitting students under different universities with permission to run courses in subjects that are also run by the GU.

The university ordered that no student should be admitted under such courses from the coming academic session. It asked the colleges/institutes to apply to the GU for consideration of affiliation as per rules.
