GDD Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya seeks roadmap on various developmental schemes

GUWAHATI: Guwahati Development Department (GDD) Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya on Monday took stock of the various developmental projects that have been taken by various departments in Kamrup (Metro). Addressing a meeting held with the Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner and other senior officials, Bhattacharya also noted the measures taken by the District Administration to curb the menace of COVID-19.

The developmental projects in Kamrup (M) must continue along with necessary measures to break the chain of COVID, said the Minister. He asked DC Biswajit Pegu to prepare a road map about the implementation of various developmental schemes under different departments. "The roadmap should have plan of action for the next three months and all the departments must submit their reports to the DC," said Bhattacharya. During the discussion, DC Pegu made the Minister aware about the various preventive measures taken by the District Administration to tackle the COVID outbreak.

The departments whose roadmap needs to be presented are – Health and Family Welfare Department, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Agriculture, Transport, Irrigation, Veterinary, Fishery, Handloom and Textile, Dairy Development, Labour and Employment, Assam Power Distribution Company Limited, Sports, GMC, PWD, Public Health Engineering, and Social Welfare.
