Get ready for municipality elections & bypolls: AGP president Atul Bora to party leaders

GUWAHATI: Asom Gana Parishad president and Minister Atul Bora has urged the party leaders to get ready for the forthcoming municipality & bypolls. In this regard, he added that the strength of the regional party can be galvanised at the grassroots. He stressed the importance of ground-level organisation for a futuristic party framework.

Bora stressed on these key managerial principles at the party's Central committee office bearers meet at Dispur on Thursday.

Taking to The Sentinel, Bora added, "Bypolls are due in several LACs besides the municipality elections. Hence, we have decided to strengthen our base in the constituencies right from the gound level. Our leaders will coordinate with the party workers in a timebound manner

Also present on the occasion were party working president Minister Keshab Mahanta and senior party leader Phani Bhushan Choudhury.

Mentionably the last five-year term of the municipal bodies ended in March 2020. Owing to the pandemic, the polls could not be held within the slated timeframe.
