Girl’s Body Recovered from Guwahati's Dimoria Area Under Mysterious Condition

DIMORIA, Aug 13: The recovery of a girl’s body has been creating a sensation at 10 Mile area. According to the police source, the body was recovered from the Bahini River behind the NRL petrol pump located at 10 Mile area on Monday. Visiting the spot, the Meghalaya police recovered the body from the River on mysterious condition. Initially, the Meghalaya police suspected that the girl was drowned by the artificial flood. However, the local residents, who later identified the body as that of one Nishamani Barman of 11-mile area, alleged that she was raped and killed. So far, the Khanapara police have forwarded the body for post-mortem. The police investigation is expected to unearth the circumstances behind the death.
