GMC (Guwahati Municipal Corporation) continues eviction drive

GUWAHATI: The GMC (Guwahati Municipal Corporation) conducted an eviction drive for the third consecutive day on Tuesday, from Guwahati Club to Patharquary. The veterinary branch of the GMC inspected a total of 92 poultry shops and evicted 42 shops from Sixmile, 29 from Borbari Bazar and two from Patharquary. A total fine of Rs. 12,700 was imposed on 19 shops on Dispur Supermarket.

Meanwhile, the health branch inspected 24 hotel fast foods, restaurant and lodges.

A total of Rs. 7,750 fine was collected from 14 shops at Super Market, Rs. 2,750 from 6 shops at Sixmile and Rs. 1,500 from 4 shops in Borbari. The Hoarding Branch of GMC dismantled a total of 163 Kiosks from Guwahati Club, Commerce College area, RGB Road, Zoo Road and Ganeshguri.
