Government is working in favour of capitalists: Refinery workers

GUWAHATI: The United Workmen Union of Guwahati Refinery, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) on Friday staged a protest against the government's 'anti-labour and anti-farmer policies'.

Demonstrating in front of the refinery following the lockdown protocol, the workers said that currently both the State and Central governments are working in favour of the capitalists. Slamming the government's decision to increase the labour hours to 12 hours, general secretary of the body, Girish Kalita asserted that the government is trying to abolish all the trade union acts.

He also slammed the government's decision to increase prices on petroleum prices on a regular basis.
