Government of Assam Announces Ex-Gratia To Slain Assam Rifles Jawan

GUWAHATI: Government of Assam at the instance of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 20 lakh to the family members of slain jawan of Assam Rifles late Kalidas Sarma who lost his life in terrorist attack on May 25.

According to a press release, Late Kalidas Sharma who hailed from Khonamukh Berajan near Balipara of Sonitpur district lost his life in terrorist attack. Sarbananda Sonowal said that the country is proud of the courage and valour of the jawan who for the sake of the nation laid down his life. Sonowal also prayed to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed his empathy to the bereaved family members.
