Government of Assam declared judicial staff, lawyers, etc as frontline Covid workers

GUWAHATI: The Government of Assam has, via a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), declared judges, judicial officers, lawyers including the staff of the Gauhati High Court as well as the subordinate courts as frontline workers of the COVID-19 scenario. Consequently, they would be entitled to get the COVID-19 booster shot as per the guidelines of the Government of India, provided there is a nine-month gap between the last vaccine shot and the booster shot.

This was disclosed to the High Court on Friday by Advocate General of Assam Devajit Saikia during the hearing via video conferencing of a suo moto Public Interest Litigation (PIL). Saikia also informed the court that the COVID-19 situation in Assam is under control.
