Government to distribute one lakh shallow tube wells

GUWAHATI, Oct 9: State’s Agriculture Minister Atul Bora revealed that under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), altogether one lakh shallow tube wells will be distributed to the farmers of the State. The Minister further stressed that one tractor has been distributed against each revenue village of the State with an aim to double the income of the farmers by 2020. While handing over appointment letters of 266 contractual staffs recently recruited under the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) scheme in a function organized at Shilpgram near Panjabari on Tuesday, the Minister said, “If we explore the potentiality lies in the agriculture sector, the youths of the State can be provided a better space for employment.” During the function, the Minister also launched a web portal for farmers’ registration.
