GUWAHATI: Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development Naba Kumar Doley on Tuesday stated that, "The Department will release a fund of Rs 650 crore for 65,000 Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) of the State in the month February."

Doley made the statement while inaugurating the ASOMI SARAS Mela 2021 on Tuesday. Organized under the aegis of the Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM), the ASOMI SARAS Mela will conclude on February 1. The Mela is also being supported by the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). The Bank will provide awards to six best stalls of the Mela.

A wide range of products crafted by the rural artisans, craftsmen and SHGs from 17 States across the country will be sold in the exhibition. A total of 110 stalls have been set up by the different SHGs from the country.
