Guwahati: 16-Year-Old Daughter Raped By Step-Father In Chandmari

Guwahati: A 16-year-old minor girl was allegedly raped by her step-father in Guwahati's Chandmari on Wednesday.

According to reports, the victim is a class 10 student, and the incident took place in Chandmari's Bhaskar Nagar.

The accused spiked the victim with some drug and then allegedly raped her.

However, the accused has been nabbed by the police after the incident came to the notice of the girl's family.

Reportedly, the accused person has also committed such crimes earlier but they went unreported.

Notably, rape incidents have been increasing on daily basis and last month too four persons were arrested for allegedly gang-rapping a woman in the Hatigaon area.

The 37-year-old woman was gang-raped in a house located at the Neelkamal Path in Hatigaon after she was invited by one of the accused for lunch.

As per reports, the victim, who earlier worked at a beauty parlour in the city, had joined a private call centre company on April 18. She was invited by Ashraful Amin, Mukul Islam, and Nayan Muddin Ali for lunch, after which they allegedly gang-raped her.
