Guwahati City Committee of SAGMDJP demanded separate development council

GUWAHATI: The Sadou Asom Goria-Moria-Deshi Jatiya Parishad (SAGMDJP) Guwahati City Committee on Wednesday demanded the formation of a separate development council for the Deshis residing in Western Assam.

Highlighting a slew of demands, the body submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through Kamrup (Metro) DC on Tuesday. The body urged the State government to make the Goria and Moria development councils functional at the earliest. It also seeks the inclusion of people of the Goria and Deshi communities into the newly formed Kamatapur Autonomous Council.
