Guwahati Crime Branch arrests four oil thieves, others absconding

Guwahati: In an operation launched against the oil thieves in different parts of the city, the Guwahati Crime Branch has seized 12000 litres of diesel. During the operation, which took place on Thursday night, the team of Guwahati Crime Branch police also seized an oil tanker and many drums filled with oil.

The oil tanker and the loaded oil drums have been seized from the Mathghoria area near Noonmati Police Station.

Four of the oil thieves were apprehended by the Crime Branch police. However, the other members of the oil smuggling racket fled before the police reached the site.
