Guwahati: Drug-Addicted Youth Murders His Own Brother

GUWAHATI: In a terrible course of circumstances, a teenage boy in Guwahati's Bamunimaidan neighbourhood was killed by his own younger brother late Sunday.

According to reports, Jintu Das (20), the younger brother, struck and killed his elder brother, Kamal Das (22), to death with a rod while he was sleeping.

The two allegedly fought throughout the daytime when Jintu attempted to sell a cylinder from the residence owing to a monetary need. Jintu, according to insiders, is a drug user. However, Chandmari police arrived on the scene and dealt with the scenario.

On the other hand, a 23-year-old boy was slain by his father and stepmother in a similar situation.

According to accounts, the deceased, Kakumoni Bora, was mercilessly tortured by his father at their home in Teok town, Jorhat district. Kakumoni Bora's father is suspected of killing him on October 31 by repeatedly beating him in the head for asking for Diwali payments.

After his kid was murdered, Kakumoni's father and stepmother disposed of his remains in an abandoned bathroom on their property.

Kakumoni Bora's semi-decomposed body was discovered by investigators after he had been missing for several days. Police apprehended Kakumoni's father and stepmother, Phanidhar Bora and Horumoni Dutta, when the corpse was discovered. On Tuesday, the accused couple appeared in front of the Jorhat district and sessions court, where the father is claimed to have admitted to the crime. The father, on the other hand, is accused of repeatedly hitting his child in the head with a bamboo stick.

In a similar case, a 34-year-old man in Assam's Cachar district is accused of murdering his elderly mother. When his father filed a police complaint, the crime was committed, and the defendant was apprehended. Amarjit Deb, the suspect, comes from Gosaipur part V, which is part of the Udharbond assembly seat in the Cachar district. Apurba Kumar Deb, Amarjit's father, claims that Amarjit dragged his mother Sumati Deb from her chamber and beat her with a bamboo stick. After only a few hours, she passed away.
