Guwahati: Guwahati Jal Board (GJB) has urged the residents of Amiya Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Chandmari, Rajgarh, and Pub Saraniya to apply for the water supply on a trial basis under phase 1 of the scheme.

On 21 July, a website and a mobile application for the registration of consumers under a trial run of JICA assisted the Guwahati Water Supply project.

Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, GJB said, ''An earnest appeal to people of Amiya Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Chandmari, Rajgarh & Pub Saraniya to apply in the link below to receive water on a trial basis under phase I of the scheme.''

The residents can download the app of GJB and apply from there.

During the launch of the website, the Cabinet Minister of Assam, Housing & Urban Affairs and Irrigation, Ashok Singhal, had said that the vision of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to provide clean and safe water to the people of Guwahati is gradually turning into a reality.

''Glad to launch the website & mobile application for the registration of consumers under trial run of JICA assisted Guwahati Water Supply project today,'' Cabinet Minister of Assam, Housing & Urban Affairs and Irrigation,'' he added.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONSUMER REGISTRATION

AREA SELECTION

Please check & select the available "Area" & "Sub Area" for House Service connections under JICA Assisted Guwahati Water Supply Project.

MOBILE BASED AUTHENTICATION

a. All new "Consumers" shall sign up with his/her Mobile No. It is mandatory.

b. Consumer needs to request OTP & a one-time password (OTP) message will be provided by GMDW&SB for login purpose.

c. Consumers shall provide the "EMAIL ID" for communication purposes. It is not mandatory

SELECTION OF PROPERTY FROM MAP

Please follow the instructions to select the property location on the Map:-

a. Check whether your property lies within the "Highlighted Map Area".

b. Consumers having property located within the highlighted area are eligible to register for Water Connection in phase 1.

c. Use the GPS Tool or Move the "Icon" accurately on the property location.

d. Confirm the location

NEW CONNECTION – (ONLINE APPLICATION FORM)

a. Once the consumer confirms the location, the online application form will appear for filling up the information from the user.

b. Please note that consumers can't change the Area, Sub Area & Mobile after logging in.

1. Type of Consumer

All Consumers of the GMDW&SB are either "Domestic" or "Non-Domestic". Consumers need to select the "Category" based on the below specifications:

a. Domestic Category:

This includes all consumers using water facilities in Individual Households, Apartments, or premises owned either by Government – Central and State or by private parties for all bonafide domestic purposes such as cooking, washing, drinking, gardening, cleaning, toileting, etc.

b. Non-Domestic Category:

i. Government Consumers: This includes all consumers of Central & State government organizations.

ii. Institutional Consumers: This includes all consumers, facilities in institutions that include Govt Educational institutions, Private Educational institutions, Public Administration offices, Religious Places, etc.

iii. Commercial Consumers: This includes all commercial institutions such as hotels, restaurants, tea stalls, guest houses, private lodges, paying guest houses, tourist lodges, cinema halls and multiplexes, shops and shopping malls, showrooms, sales centers, mechanical and electrical workshops, vehicle service centers, recreation centres, conference halls, marriage halls, railway stations, airports, bus stands, private hospitals, dispensaries, and nursing homes, etc.

iv. Industrial Consumers: This includes all consumers using water facilities in workshops, small, medium, or large-scale industries for any trade, manufacture, business or any other industrial purposes.

v. Health: This includes all consumers using water facilities in Hospitals.

2. Type of Property

Consumer needs to select the property & sub-property type, as per the list provided.

3. Details of Applicant:

Consumer needs to provide

a. First Name and Last Name and both are Compulsory.

b. Father/Husband Name and is compulsory. (In case of Individual Household).

c. Name of Organization and Designation in case of all other consumers except Individual Household.

d. Applicant need to upload the latest Photograph having size not more than 2 MB.

4. Contact Details:

Consumer needs to provide

a. Mobile No: It is compulsory to provide mobile number, as it will be used for all log in & further communication.

b. Email Id: Should be provided in exact case. It is optional.

c. Alternative Mobile No: May be provided to facilitate communication. It is optional.

d. Office No: May be provided to facilitate communication. It is optional.

5. Property Details:

Consumer needs to provide the following details

a. No of Persons using the premises. It is compulsory.

b. Estimate water Demand (Day /Liters) = (No of Persons living in property premises x 135 Liter). It is compulsory.

c. No. of floors: It is optional.

d. No. of Rooms: Must be provided in case the property type is commercial, institutional or health.

6. Property Address:

Consumer needs to provide

a. Ward and House Number correctly. These are optional.

b. Holding Number is compulsory.

c. Road Name, Lane Name, Bye Lane Name, Society Name etc,

d. Pin Code. It is compulsory.

7. Existing Source of Water:

To be checked by the consumer from the options.

Documents to be attached:

8. Proof of Identity:

Consumer needs to upload the copy of any one of the following documents. Document size shouldn't exceed 2 MB. It is compulsory.

a. Driving License,

b. Passport,

c. Aadhaar Card,

d. PAN Card,

e. Voter ID, or

f. Bank Passbook.

9. Proof of Address:

Consumer needs to upload the copy of any one of the following documents. Document size shouldn't exceed 2 MB. It is compulsory.

a. Driving License,

b. Passport,

c. Aadhaar Card,

d. Voter ID,

e. Bank Passbook,

j. Electricity Bill, or

g. Landline Telephone Bill.

10. Property Ownership Document:

Consumer needs to upload the copy of any one of the following documents. It is mandatory. Document size shouldn't exceed 5 MB

a. GMC Property Tax Assessment Document,

b. GMC Property Tax Payment Receipt

11. Consumer Existing Electricity Connection Status:

Consumer needs to provide the following details regarding their electricity connection:-

a. Electricity Consumer Number.

b. Consumer name of the electricity connection.

c. Relationship if electricity connection is not in the name of the applicant.

d. Upload the electricity bill.

12. Declaration/Undertaking:

a. Consumer needs to read the declaration and undertaking clause from GMDW&SB.

b. Consumer shall "Tick" the I Agree check box to accept the declaration. It is compulsory.

c. Once finish, Consumer shall "Upload Data".

d. SMS shall be forwarded to consumer by GMDW&SB on uploading the data.

e. Application Number shall be generated by the System for future references.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONNECTION STATUS, APPLICATION FEES & GRIEVANCES REGISTER

a. Consumers can login through registered mobile

b. Consumer can view or edit the data before the final submit. It might be the last chance for consumer to review the online application form and details.

c. SMS shall be forwarded to consumer by GMDW&SB on receipt of application fees payment on the consumers registered mobile number

NON REFUNDABLE APPLICATION FEES OF RS. 500 (FIVE HUNDRED ONLY)

a. Consumer shall pay the non-refundable application fees amount of Rs. 500 through

i.Credit card,

i.Debit card,

iii. Net banking,

iv. UPI,

b. After GMDW&SB completes the verification process, "SMS" shall be forwarded to consumer for application status

c. Consumer can check the status of Water Connection on Web/Mobile platform.

INSTALLATION FEE

a. Once the application is received at our end along with the application fee, the department will check for the feasibility of the connection

b. The applicant will receive a confirmation about the status of the approval/rejection of the connection via SMS.

c. Once the application is approved, the applicant needs to pay the installation fee as per the charges mentioned in the tariff plan.

d. Procedure to pay the installation fee:

• Visit gmdwsb.in or check mobile app for connection status.

• Pay Connection charge tab will be activated for all the approved connections.

• Click pay connection charges and you will be redirected to the payment gateway for the online payment.

• The payment can be done through any of the following option:

i. Credit card,

ii. Debit card,

iii. Net banking,

iv. UPI,

e. Once the payment is made the applicant will receive a payment confirmation via SMS and the connection will be provided within 21 working days.
