Guwahati: Magisterial Probe Ordered Into Prisoner's Death

Guwahati: The Kamrup (Metro) District Administration, on Monday, ordered a magisterial probe into the death of a prisoner at Gauhati Medical College And Hospital (GMCH).

As per reports, the deceased prisoner identified as one Manu Das was admitted to the GMCH on July 3 and but he died on July 13.

Das who was a resident of Paltan Bazar was lodged in Guwahati Central Jail from May 22.

Taking cognizance of the matter, the district administration ordered Assistant Commissioner Hemanta Kumar Dutta to probe the matter and submit the report of the same within 15 days.
