Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) Officials Raid Spa & Saloon in Ulubari

GUWAHATI: Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) conducted a raid and sealed one M/s The Waves Spa & Saloon situated at Lachit Nagar, Ulubari for violation of GMC rules and bye-laws.

Also, they were running the said business without any valid trade licence; complaints were also received against them.

Earlier, a show cause notice was also issued to them for non-renewal of NOC & want of proper trade licence.

The raid was conducted by Health and Enforcement Branch of GMC. 

Meanwhile, the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has taken up several steps to maintain cleanliness in the city.

GMC has given four WhatsApp numbers for people to post pictures of people spitting or littering the cityscapes.

Anyone who sends images of people spitting in public places will get a cash reward of Rs 1,000.

This move comes after incidents of spitting paan on the walls of the newly-inaugurated Dispur flyover came to light. Addressing a press conference in the city on Tuesday, GMC commissioner Devasish Sharma said that from now onwards, no one will be allowed to paste advertisement posters in public places without the permission of the Corporation.
