Guwahati Municipal Corporation launches eviction drives

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) on Monday carried out eviction drives against illegal street vendors in the footpaths and pavements of Beltola and the area near the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Monday, stated a press release.

The GMC also checked the Trade Licences of Eight different shops/business establishments operating in Beltola, of which three shops/ business establishments were found to be operating without a valid Trade Licence.

An amount of Rs 20,000 was collected by way of fines from these three shops/ business establishments.
