Guwahati: Police Arrest 65-Year-Old Man For Sexually Assaulting Minor Girl

Guwahati: Guwahati Police on Monday arrested a 65-year-old egg seller for allegedly assaulting sexually a 12-year-old girl in the city's Bamunimaidan area.

As per reports, the man identified as Ratan Dutta, who is an egg seller by profession was sexually assaulting the girl over the last few months.

Dutta used to lure the girl on the pretext of giving her eggs and money.

The incident came to light during an investigation conducted by Veerangana Mahila Samiti in Bhaskar nagar area of Guwahati. However, in a bid to hide his wrongdoing, Dutta also tried to resolve the matter by luring the women of the committee.

Meanwhile, a complaint has been filed in this regard at the Geetanagar police station.
