GUWAHATI: In a big breakthrough, Assam Police arrested the prime accused in the Chatribari murder case from Bihar.

As per police records, the accused has been identified as Pankaj Kumar and was arrested from Bihar.

Meanwhile, upon interrogation, Kumar revealed that the entire incident was planned by one W Yadav who reportedly went into hiding in Nepal.

On February 21, a 40-year-old person was shot dead in Guwahati's Chatribari locality by two unidentified men on a motorcycle on Monday night.

The man identified as Avdesh Yadav, a businessman succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital where he was rushed after the incident.

According to reports, he was shot dead while he was on his way home by the unidentified men on a motorbike who fled away from the scene immediately after committing the crime.

The bike which was used in the crime was found to be registered in the name of one Mohammad Abbas from Darang district in Assam.

Yadav, who was killed, hailed from Bihar but was living in Guwahati for the past six months.
