Guwahati Police Bust Fake Currency Racket In Paltan Bazar

While nabbing them, the Police also recovered a couple of Rs 500 fake notes and also two mobile phones from their possession.

Guwahati: Guwahati police on late Monday night busted fake currency racket in Paltan Bazar area and also apprehended two people in this regard.

Reportedly, they were operating the racket from a Hotel near Arya hospital.

The duo has been identified as Tensubam Leaishemba Meitei and Nepram Somendro Shing from Manipur.

While nabbing them, the Police also recovered a couple of Rs 500 fake notes and also two mobile phones from their possession.

Police has registered a case against them under IPC section 489 at Paltan Bazar police station.

Notably, as per the sources, it is suspected that the arrested individuals are involved in large scale supply of counterfeit money in the city.
