Guwahati Police held Fake sadhu from Jalukbari area

GUWAHATI: Police apprehended a fake sadhu, identified as one Zamir Hussain, from the Jalukbari area on Thursday.

According to police sources, Hussain allegedly attempted to extort Rs 2 lakh in cash from a person, one Bipul Kalita, in lieu of providing mystic treatment.

Based on a complaint lodge by Kalita, the Jalukbari police nabbed Hussain from near the Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Khetra Memorial. Further investigation is underway.
