Guwahati: Police Nab Man On Charge of Attempt To Rape Woman

Guwahati: The Guwahati Police on Thursday night nabbed a man on the charge of attempting to rape a woman in Guwahati's Panjabari area.

As per reports, the accused has invited the woman for dinner at a guest house and tried to rape her. However, the woman managed to escape.

Later, the victim woman filed a complaint at Dispur police Station following which police nabbed the culprit.

Reports, also claimed that in connection with the same, six more people were also arrested.

Presently, the police have launched an investigation into the matter.

Earlier this month, a 27-year-old man was apprehended for allegedly raping a woman who was from Arunachal Pradesh in the city's Hengerabari area.

However, the police nabbed him from Surujnagar six miles on 2nd June at midnight and a case has also been registered under relevant sections of the IPC.
