Guwahati: The Guwahati Police has added another feather to its cap as it rescued three minors within a span of 48 hours from different locations in Assam.

The Guwahati police nabbed one Dhaneswar Biswas, who allegedly kidnapped a minor girl from Dhupdhara, the Goalpara district yesterday.

''An EGPD team from Basistha PS rescued a minor girl from Dhupdhara yesterday. One Dhaneswar Biswas, who had kidnapped the girl, was arrested. Legal action has been initiated,'' the city police tweeted.

In another such case, the police rescued a minor boy on Tuesday who was missing from Ganesh Madir colony and handed him over to his parents.

Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Guwahati Police said, ''A CGPD team from Satgaon PS rescued a minor boy, within hours of his being reported missing from Ganesh Mandir Colony, and handed over to his smiling parents.''

Besides this, on Monday too an East Guwahati Police Department (EGPD) team from Khetri PS rescued one Jatin Deka of Khetri from Nowgam in Jammu and Kashmir.

As per the police, the boy was missing since June 12 and was rescued with the help of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

''An EGPD team from Khetri PS rescued one Jatin Deka of Khetri from Nowgam in Jammu & Kashmir. The minor boy was reported missing on June 12, 2022. He was brought back with the help of @JmuKmrPolice and reunited with his parents today,'' Guwahati Police tweeted.

It is worth mentioning that despite such cases of kidnapping have risen in the state, the Guwahati Police has successfully managed to crack down on kidnappers and has reunited several victims with their parents. Such achievements of the city police prove that they are no less than any other state's police force.
