Guwahati: Police Seize 50,000 Tablets of 'World is Yours' Drug Worth Rs 4 Cr

Guwahati: The Guwahati Police on Saturday seized 50,000 'World Is Yours' tablets from five drug peddlers at midnight.

A special team led by JCP Partha Mahanta and DSP Kalyan Pathak successfully seized these tablets and also nabbed five drug peddlers.

''#WarOnDrugs is on & how! A Spl Team led by JCP Partha Mahanta & Kalyan Pathak, DSP @KamrupPolice seized 50,000 'World Is Yours' tablets from 5 drug peddlers at midnight. Further probe is on,'' Guwahati Police tweeted on Sunday morning.

In November last year, the city had seized the same tablets with same quantity.

Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had informed the same.

"AssamAgainstDrugs. Another major drug haul by Assam police. The timely interception by GuwahatiPol has led to the successful recovery of 50,000 'World is Yours' tablets. We shall not allow our youth to get trapped by the drugs menace," Sarma tweeted.
