GUWAHATI: On Thursday Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the 'Sewa Setu' mobile app of the Assam police which was developed jointly by the Assam Police and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), and the app will enable people to lodge FIRs, missing person complaints, and tenant verifications among others without visiting the police station.

On the other hand, Assam Police Seva Setu portal will give citizens to access greater transparent real time communication, the portal will bilingual which will have Assamese and Bengali language. People can instant report crimes, can submit grievances, it has the facility of online registration of senior citizen alone as per reports.

The other features of Assam Police Seva Setu Are:

Instant reporting of crimes, submission of grievances and access to police

Online registration of senior citizens living alone

Verification of Govt/PSU/private job candidates

Verification of tenants, PG inmates and domestic help & Filling reports for missing persons, child-related issues and lost and found items

Security clearance for commercial construction, petrol pump, gas agency, etc.

Applying for permission/NOC for firecracker sale, temporary bar licence, etc

Providing feedback

Sharing of crime-related information secretly

Earlier, Assam Police on their official Twitter account informed that, “With Assam Police Seva Setu, Citizens will access a range of services in real time.

Report incidents, register e-FIRs, apply for Permissions/NOCs/Verifications, Register Senior Citizens, everything is just #OneRightClick away.

Furthermore, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, laid the foundation stone for the National Forensic Sciences University's Guwahati campus. It is being constructed at Molong in the Kamrup district's Changsari neighbourhood. The project's first phase was supposed to be finished by 2026, and the second by 2030.

More than 50 undergraduate, graduate, PhD, and post-doctoral programmes in forensic science, wildlife forensics, cyber security, narcotics, digital forensics, drone forensics, forensic psychology, and forensic justice and law will be offered at the campus, which will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 300 crore.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, reportedly said that the National Science Forensic University in Molong in the Changsari neighbourhood of the Kamrup district to assists students from all South East Asian nations in receiving the greatest academic assistance and a career path in future.

Meanwhile, The Union Home Minister arrived in Guwahati on Thursday on a day-long visit to the state to mark the end of the two years of the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led BJP government in Assam. He attended three events to mark the occasion.

Moreover, Shah also attended the ceremonial delivery of appointment letters to 44,703 qualified candidates for various government ministries during the final event.
