Guwahati University PG Students Stage Hunger Strike

GUWAHATI: Guwahati University PG Students Union staged a 10-hour hunger strike against the anti-Assamese Citizenship (Amendment) Bill-2016 on Thursday. They have decided to boycott all MLAs of the ruling party.

President Luckymoni Baruah and General Secretary Nayan Jyoti Gogoi commented that if the need arises, they will not fall back from raising a second Assam Agitation. If the Assam Accord is refuted by the ruling party, it will not be tolerated under any condition. The PG Students Union also commented that they will refrain from organizing any central and state government events in the University Auditorium. They have also declared that will not cease to protest if any member of the ruling party makes an appearance in any social event.
