GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Yuba Nagarik Samity (GNYS) has welcomed the Education Department's decision to cancel the HSLC (High School leaving certificate) and HS (Higher Secondary) examinations due to the COVID-19 situation.
Earlier, GNYS president Er. Kailash Sarma had requested Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to follow the rules and procedures of the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) and ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) respectively. He also suggested the CM to take appropriate measures for the safety of students and underlined that the conduct of offline examinations can cause a man-made disaster.
