GUWAHATI: Every year on August 1, GVK EMRI 108 celebrates ERC Day to appreciate the efforts and dedications of each and every members of the Emergency Response Centre (ERC). This year too ERC Day is celebrated with the theme "Life under COVID-19 pandemic" with proper guidelines and norm.
108's Emergency Response Centre is the heart of GVK EMRI where all the calls are, processed and followed up to provide emergency services which is pivotal for entire life saving process. The Employees of ERC are the backbone of the operations and the first to the beneficiary-caller. The efficiency and empathy towards the caller ensures successful delivery of the services across the state.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the ERC team for the 108 toll free number has been round the clock with added manpower support so that the extra call flow to the 108 number can be catered to in these dire times where every emergency call is of utmost importance. All non-essential leaves have been cancelled during this period for the ERC staff with exception to critical illnesses/ pregnancy related issues.
