Haj panel makes two doses of COVID vaccine mandatory for pilgrims

GUWAHATI: The Joint State Haj Committee, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland etc. has directed the provisionally selected pilgrims of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh for Haj-2021 to get two doses of vaccine before departure to Saudi Arabia.

"As per Health Minister of Saudi Arabia and a mail from Consulate General of India, Jeddah, Pilgrims visiting the Kingdom need to get two doses of vaccine before departure to Saudi Arabia.

Indian pilgrims are advised to take the first dose vaccine now on their own so that at the time of departure the second dose is also given to them," stated a release.

The release added that no official communication regarding Haj-2021 has been received from Saudi Government.

"All the process of Haj-2021 will be subject to the approval of Saudi authorities," the release read.
