Hajo police apprehend 5 people for illegally transporting cattle

GUWAHATI: Hajo police on Thursday apprehend five people for illegally transporting cattle. As per reports, the police have recovered 17 cattle which were being carried on two vehicles bearing registration numbers AS-25-BC-1693 and AS-25-EC-3589. Both the vehicles have been seized and a case (109/2020 u/s 379/411 IPC R/W Sec 11(1) (D) Prevention of cruelty to Animal Act) has been registered against the apprehended persons. Meanwhile, the accused are under judicial custody and further investigation is on.
