GUWAHATI: Greeting the onset of Rongali, renowned actors Chetana Das and Latasil Bihu Sanmilani’s very first Bihu Rani, Madhurima Choudhury along with distinguished singer Anupam Saikia, performed for the patients and staff of Hayat hospital on Wednesday.

The hospital has been performing pre-Bihu events every year and this year too, the performers did not disappoint and a beautiful environment pervaded the dry and gloomy atmosphere of the hospice. The eminent guests danced and sang with the staff and patients and later, visited the bedridden patients in their rooms and distributed Bihu delicacies like pitha, laru, etc.

Expressing excitement, Chetana Das complimented the initiative undertaken by the hospital and commented that she was glad to present a glimmer of sunshine for the patients who are away from home and suffering. While Madhurima Choudhury commented, “The environment that I was a part of today, made me joyous. I wish everyone a wonderful Bihu. However, since this is also the time of election, I urge that no person sit at home. Rather, they should come out and exercise their franchise because each vote is valuable in choosing the right leader.” General Manager of the hospital, Parag Jyoti Dutta said, “Like every year, this year too we celebrated pre-Bihu, embracing the spirit of the festival, and will continue to do so. This little programme helps in uplifting the spirits of the patients as well as the employees and generates a positive vibe.”
