Healthcare Excellence Award For B Borooah Cancer Institute

GUWAHATI: Healthcare Excellence Award 2019 instituted by News18 Asom NE was presented to Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), Guwahati by Health Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma in presence of Pijush Hazarika, Minister of State (Health), Government of Assam on February 9, 2019. The Award was presented for outstanding contribution in Health Education.

According to a press release, Dr S M Bhagabaty, Associate Prof, Department of Preventive Oncology of BBCI was presented Healthcare Excellence Award for Outstanding Contribution in Rural Healthcare. BBCI is actively involved in Community Oncology programme for prevention and early detection of Cancer. The Institute is implementing DESH Programme with Piramal Swyastha for control of Head and Neck, Breast and Cervical Cancer in Rural Kamrup Districts.
