Heroin worth Rs 1 crore seized in Guwahati Railway Station, one arrested

GUWAHATI: A team of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Guwahati, under the supervision of the Superintendent of NCB, Guwahati, in coordination with Railway Protection Force (RPF) officers and staff of Guwahati, succeeded in arresting a woman on Monday at Guwahati Railway Station, platfrom no.7. She was carrying a sound box where she had concealed 22 soap cases containing 289.21 gm of suspected heroin.

She was arrested on arrival of the train 15604 Dn (Ledo intercity express). In this connection, NCB Guwahati registered a case vide no 17/ 22 under section 8(c) of NDPS Act dated 13.06.2022. The value of the seized heroin is around Rs 1 crore. The woman has been identified as Anita Pal (32), wife of Thenlengsa Mounglung of Chandel district in Manipur.
