Higher Secondary exams to commence from February 12 to March 14th, 2020

GUWAHATI: A total of 2,34,809 students will appear in the Higher Secondary examinations which are to be held from February 12th to March 14th, 2020. The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has set up 772 centers all across the state where students from Arts, Science, Commerce, and Vocational streams will sit in the exams.

A total of 1,75,175 students will appear in the Arts stream, 40,588 students in the Science stream, 18,178 students in the commerce stream and 868 students in the vocational stream. The board has taken special measure to safely conduct the exams. CCTV cameras will be installed in all the examination halls and section 144 will be promulgated around 50 meters from the exam centre. It is to be mentioned that the board is vigilant about the issue of ‘paper leakage’ and thus have formed a special cyber cell to avoid any such incident. In addition to that, jammers will be installed in sensitive centers and neither the examiners nor the students will be allowed to carry mobile phones.

The information was briefed at the AHSEC head office by chairman Dr. Dayananda Borgohain during a press meet on Monday.
